Responsibilities

Wipfli is seeking a Guidewire Technical Manager to join its team in our Madison, Wisconsin office.  The person who fills this position will work with clients to lead, analyze, research, communicate, architect, design and implement the technology solutions for variety of functional domains including Insurance, E-Commerce and CRM. In addition, the person will provide technical leadership in Guidewire Suite, in-house developed systems and integration and implementation of cloud technologies. The person should be able to lead and handle globally distributed teams assembled to deliver software solutions to clients and to take accountability for the solution design and technical delivery by following Industry standard Agile principles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:
 
The Guidewire Technical Manager must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. The individual must also have at least 6 years of progressive software development experience. As part of the 6 years of progressive software development experience required, the individual must have:
- 5 years of experience in Architecting, Designing and implementation of insurance policy administration systems including at least 4 years using Guidewire Policy Center and 1 year using Guidewire Rating.
- 5 years of experience working in an onshore-offshore model.
- 2 years of experience in authoring complex SQL queries.
- 5 years of experience in Agile methodology
- 2 years of experience converting a legacy system to Guidewire.
- 5 years of experience working with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Struts and Oracle
- 3 years of experience with front-end web development using JavaScript frameworks
- 3 years of experience with design solutions and design models.
- 3 years of experience for fulfilling responsibilities including and not limited to planning and recommending on-boarding and work allocation and feedback for the team members
- 3 years of PROD support experience
- 3 years of experience working in a life insurance domain
- 1 year of experience working in commercial insurance lines
- 2 years of experience working in server administrations using WebSphere and WebLogic.
- 2 years of software architecture experience including coding critical elements of the architectural design, and counseling clients on the pros/cons of the proposed architecture
- 2 years of experience managing offshore teams of 20+ members
- 1 year of experience designing and building web applications for availability, scalability, performance, and disaster recovery in Cloud (Rackspace, AWS)
- 1 year of experience providing technical direction to a distributed team executing the solution architecture and system design.
- Must have Guidewire 10 Certification
